After you have made an application for your Canadian citizenship, you will receive a fingerprint request letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The letter indicates that applicants must have their fingerprints taken within 30 days of the date of the letter. This means that you need to obtain a Canadian RCMP fingerprint-based background check.

On the day of your appointment, bring two pieces of government-issued IDs and the IRCC request letter and our staff will help you with the background check.

If you are outside of Canada, we can still assist you with the background check. The process can be completed online here: https://thefingerprintroom.com/rcmp-criminal-background-check-application/. On the online application form, please indicate your Application # and UCI #, which can be found at the top of the IRCC request letter.

The IRCC request letter also states the designated IRCC address that the fingerprint results (i.e., RCMP background check certificate) should be forwarded to. Given that the IRCC address varies across applicants, it is utterly important to indicate your designated IRCC address under the Mailing Address section on your background check application to ensure the correct shipping process.
