Security Clearance

A security clearance is a status granted to individuals allowing them access to classified information or to restricted areas. Certain employment contracted by the government or employment within the government will require a security clearance completed.

Have your fingerprints submitted electronically to the RCMP for security clearance

Employees working for federal contractors or those who are looking to apply for cannabis license will require electronic fingerprint service to complete their security clearance. Results will be sent to the corresponding government institutions directly; employees of federal contractors to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and cannabis license applicants to Health Canada. Criminal record check for these cases are usually valid for one calendar year from the date the fingerprints were taken.

What to bring to your fingerprinting appointment?

1. Two pieces of government issued English IDs (one must include a photo)

2. Employer’s full legal name

What to expect at our office?

1. We will confirm your identity with your IDs

2. Fingerprints will be scanned and submitted to the RCMP

3. RCMP will issue your RCMP certificate directly to the corresponding government institution

4. Receipt and DCN number will be available at the end of appointment
