Recently we have been notified by some of our clients about receiving letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada requesting their photos to be on the RCMP Criminal Record Check:

IRCC Letter for Request of Photo

It is worth noticing that not all our clients who are applying for their Canadian Immigration are required to have photos on their RCMP Record Check, only some were asked for a photo. Please contact IRCC directly to check whether this requirement applies to your application.

One thing you should keep in mind when deciding whether to add a photo to your police certificate is photos are not used to conduct your criminal record check. RCMP uses your name, date of birth and fingerprints to conduct a criminal record check and produce a police certificate. Photos, just like addresses, are supplementary information that will not affect the validity and result of the RCMP Criminal Record Check.

If the immigration office you are dealing with asks for a photo to be on your RCMP Record Check, you can simply email us at The Fingerprint Room Inc. a passport size photo. Our staff will digitize it and submit it to RCMP along with your fingerprints and other materials.

Do not panic when you receive new requirements or need to provide additional information. Contact us at The Fingerprint Room Inc. directly. We will provide you a detailed and comprehensive solution based on your circumstances. You can reach us by email at contact@thefingerprintroom.com
