March 31st is the National Indigenous Language Day. Recently the provincial government of BC is taking steps to include indigenous languages in government records, systems and services. The Provincial Government of BC held an in-person consultation with the indigenous community in Victoria, and The Fingerprint Room Inc. was honored to be invited to participate in the conversation and contribute to the cause. The spoken and written language of the indigenous people is the most important and vital part of our culture. Better recognition and preservation of the indigenous people’s language is essential to the reconciliation effort.
