While the letter may seemingly request for just your fingerprints, what IRCC is actually asking for is a fingerprint-based police clearance certificate. You can apply for an RCMP fingerprint-based police clearance certificate in just 5 easy steps:

  2. Have your fingerprints taken at your local police station, public notary, or a licensed third-party agency.
  3. Email us two pieces of your government-issued IDs, a scan of the completed fingerprints for our review, and the request letter you received from IRCC.
  4. Upon our confirmation, mail the original fingerprints to our office for processing. Once we receive all necessary documentations, we can submit your fingerprints to the RCMP to issue a police clearance certificate. On average, RCMP turnaround time is 5-10 business days.
  5. When we receive your police clearance certificate back at our office, we can mail the document directly to IRCC via courier shipping. Since each applicant is assigned a specific IRCC address, you must send us your IRCC fingerprint request letter in order to have your police clearance certificate sent directly to them.
