How to Obtain Fingerprints from various cities in China?

Are you looking to have your fingerprints taken in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, in China? It is simple! Police departments in China DO NOT take fingerprints. You will need to visit your local notary office, an authorized forensic science institute, or a private fingerprinting agency to obtain your fingerprints. In China, most agencies take your fingerprints manually, meaning that use ink and roll each of your fingerprints onto the fingerprint form. Fingerprinting is often required to apply for a Canadian police clearance certificate.

Public Notary Offices:

You can take your fingerprints at your local notary public. The applicant may need to bring their own fingerprint form and inkpad as the fingerprints are often taken manually. Usually, the notary official will watch you complete the fingerprinting in front of them. Use black ink only. Afterwards, the notary official will notarize your fingerprints into a notary booklet. Public notaries in China DO NOT sign the fingerprint form, but instead put their notary stamp and seal in the completed book. A notary certificate in both Chinese and English are included in the notarized fingerprints.

Forensic Science Institutes / Private Fingerprinting Agencies:

A different way of having your fingerprints taken in China is to go to a recognized forensic science institute – such as the Institute of Forensic Science under China’s Ministry of Justice – or a private fingerprinting agency.
