How to Apply for a Canadian RCMP Criminal Record Check for my Spanish Visa?

If you have resided in Canada for a period of time and are applying for a Spain visa, you may require a Canadian RCMP criminal record check and Apostille. Applicants are often required to provide an Apostilled Canadian RCMP criminal record check that is issued within the past 3 months for their Spain visa. 1. Submit an online application form for each applicant, linked here: https://thefingerprintroom.com/rcmp-criminal-background-check-application/.
2. Have your fingerprints taken. To do so, you can visit your local police station or notary office for fingerprinting.
3. Once you have completed the online application and obtained your fingerprints, each applicant needs to email 2 pieces of government-issued IDs and a clear scan of the completed fingerprint form to apply@thefingerprintroom.com. Our staff will review your documents.
4. Upon our confirmation of the documents, we will let you know to mail the original fingerprints to our office for processing.
5. Once the original fingerprints reached our office, they will be submitted to RCMP for the background check. The processing time on average is 5-10 business days. This estimate may vary as a result of delays.
6. When we receive the background check certificate from RCMP, we can begin the Apostille. Due to a higher volume of documents for processing during the summer time, the current turnaround time is about 30-45 business days.
7. Once we received the Apostilled RCMP certificate, the original hardcopy of the documents will be couriered to your mailing address as indicated on the application form. We use FedEx global express and a tracking number is available. Average shipping time is about 4-5 days.
