Many private sectors and government jobs require their employees to get a personnel security screening clearance. This clearance is meant for employees who need to access protected or classified information within the company. Only a company can request for a personnel security screening clearance on behalf of the employee to register in the Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Contract Security Program (CSP). The clearance must be completed before work can begin.
The first step of the security clearance process is to obtain a RCMP criminal background check with fingerprints. Our agency will conduct the background check and send the fingerprints electronically to the RCMP. The RCMP will provide the results of the background check directly to the CSP. After obtaining your background check, our agency will provide you a printout which includes a Document Control Number (DCN). A DCN is a 20-digit number that is needed for the CSP to accurately match the personnel security screening request to the results supplied by the RCMP. Both the criminal record check and the DCN is valid for one year from the date the fingerprints were taken.
If you have been requested for a security clearance by your company, The Fingerprint Room Inc. offers a secure and easy approach in receiving your RCMP criminal record check and a DCN. To start the application process, please check our website for more details on security clearance checks.
