How to Get a Police Clearance Certificate from Canada?

Have you received a request to submit a Canadian police clearance certificate (PCC) from Canada for visa, immigration or employment purposes? This is typically required if you have stayed in Canada for a cumulative period of 6 months.

While normally this can be done by contacting your local police, this will not be possible if you are outside of Canada. The Fingerprint Room Inc. is an RCMP accredited company that can digitize ink fingerprints for submission to the RCMP to produce a police clearance certificate. The process is straightforward and most of the steps can be done online as follows:

1. Apply with our agency and complete an application form and payment for each applicant: Canadian RCMP Police Clearance Certificate Application. After filling out the application form, we will require you to send us a scanned copy of two valid government issued IDs and a completed fingerprint form for each applicant.
2. Get your fingerprints taken by either: a local police station, notary office or any private fingerprinting agency.
3. Email us a scan of the completed fingerprints. Once we have confirmed that the fingerprints were taken in the correct format, we will ask you to mail the original hardcopy to our office in Richmond, BC.
4. Upon receiving the original fingerprints, we can begin processing your Canadian police clearance certificate. Should no criminal history be found, the RCMP takes on average 5-10 business days to complete the police check.
5. After receiving the certificate, we will verify that everything is done correctly and mail it to the mailing address provided on the application form. We use FedEx or UPS courier services. Shipping times usually takes about 4-5 days.
