How Do I Get my Fingerprints for a Federal Security Screening?

Certain employment purposes in Canada require a RCMP criminal record check to process your personnel security screening request with the federal government. If your company or organization has a contract with the federal government, you may be required have your fingerprints taken for a Canadian RCMP criminal record check for a security screening. In such cases, you will be requested to complete a Fingerprints applicant request form. Your fingerprinting results will be directly sent to Public Works, as indicated by the Originating Agency Identifier (ORI) number: PQ 80800 on the request form.

As we are a private RCMP accredited fingerprinting agency, The Fingerprint Room Inc. can help you take your fingerprints electronically and submit them to RCMP’s CCRTIS (Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services) server for your federal security screening. The steps are simple and are provided below:

1. Book an appointment at our Richmond BC or Calgary AB office.
2. Bring 2 pieces of your government-issued IDs on the day of your appointment. You can bring the fingerprint request form, or we can also provide you with the form.
3. Have the following information ready:
   • Full legal name of your company (including inc./ltd., etc.)
   • Job position or title
4. After you have your fingerprints taken, our technician will fill out the fingerprint request form and provide it to you. You need to give the completed form to your employer for them to look up the results.
