How to obtain Hong Kong Police Check/Certificate of No Criminal Conviction

When clients who lived in Hong Kong for a given period and are currently applying for Canadian PR/Visa/Citizenship will be requested to provide a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction issued by the Hong Kong Police. For clients who are outside of Hong Kong, it can be difficult to go through the application process as a part of the required documents that you would need to submit to the Hong Kong Police is a set of fingerprints taken at a local police station or a certified agency in the country you live in.

How to apply for a Hong Kong Certificate of No Criminal Conviction outside of Hong Kong?

  1. Download and complete the application forms, the link to the required forms is here:
    1. https://www.police.gov.hk/info/doc/cert_no_crime/en/172a.pdf (Application Form),
    2. https://www.police.gov.hk/info/doc/cert_no_crime/en/172b-e.pdf (Fingerprint Consent Form)
    3. https://www.police.gov.hk/info/doc/cert_no_crime/en/dcs415-e.pdf (required to complete for Visa/PR application)
  2. Provide a photocopy of your Hong Kong Identity Card or a piece of valid travel document (i.e., passport).
  3. A photocopy of the letter from CIC requesting you to provide a Hong Kong Certificate of No Criminal Conviction.
    1. The letter should also clearly state the name of the applicant as well as the mailing address of the certificate.
    2. The Certificate will be sent to the corresponding agency through registered mail from the Hong Kong Police.
  4. The original fingerprint card containing the fingerprints of the applicant.
  5. A processing fee of HK$225/person.
